A flat shipping fee of $4.95 will be applied to all orders of cards and prints. Orders for cards and prints $71 or more will receive free shipping. Call for shipping and handling pricing of originals.

Hand-embellished work may take up to two months due to artist availability, order processing, handword, oil paint drying, packing, and shipping

Return Policy:

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If, for any reason, you are not happy with your order, you may return it within 3 days from the date of delivery.

The cost of return shipping is the responsibility of the customer. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

We do not currently offer exchanges. If you wish to exchange an item, please return the original item for a refund and place a new order.

Return Process:

Once we receive the returned item and confirm its condition, we will process the refund within 10 working days. The refund will be issued to the original payment method.

Damaged or Defective Items:

If you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact us immediately with photos of the product. We will arrange for a replacement or help to file an insurance claim in the case of an original painting.

This artwork is my first attempt at serious painting. Inspired by the colorful style of artist Leonid Afremov, I picked up a pallet knife and tried to emulate his style. This painting, titled “Fade into You”, was created for my son and daughter-in-law, Kipling Pedersen and Kristy Friesen. I wanted to capture the reflection of light on the wet pavement and worked hard to achieve the correct perspective. I changed the dog’s appearance to match ‘Measle’, our sweet family pet (famous for his bent ear), and painted the clothing to reflect Kipling and Kristy’s city style.

During the painting process, my pallet knife accidentally skidded across Kristy’s red dress and into Kipling’s purple shirt; the unintended stroke was a happy accident that ultimately resolved my struggle with painting the figures’ faces. Realizing that the solution had just presented itself, I chose to finish the windblown look and proceeded to paint Kristy’s hair blowing across her face. I completed the theme by abstractly burying Kipling’s and Kristy’s faces together and subsequently named it, “Fade into You”. Another challenging aspect of the painting was achieving the correct movement and proportions of the figures, particularly the legs and knees, which required me to resort to blending their feet into the shadows. I have close to 30 painting hours in this piece, and despite the challenges, it remains one of my favorite pieces to this day.
