I chose to create this painting using a striking five-color palette, infusing it with the nostalgic charm of a Midwestern landscape. The familiar swaying grass yields to the breeze, leading the eye to a distant and sentimental homestead tucked away along a winding road. The sky above painted with rich hues, mirrors the brilliance of a late evening sunset, infusing the scene with a steel Prairie atmosphere.
The receding telephone poles define a bit of the horizon and guide the viewer’s attention to the heart of the piece. I named it “Calling Home” for this reason. If you look closely, you might notice a small blackbird gracefully perched on one of the telephone poles, adding a touch of life to this quiet scene where only the whisper of the wind can be heard.
