Artist Inspiration: This small plein air painting captures a moment from a windy, sun-soaked afternoon in Sagres, Portugal. Painted while on a delightful mother-daughter trip, the scene depicts the cliffs meeting the ocean. As I painted, my daughter Rio surfed. The drive along the coast with Rio’s “Coastal Vibes” playlist added to the charm of the trip and the joy of being by the sea.
