Rio on My Mind (Prints)

Description

On a quiet winter day, I set out to paint the woods that my daughter, Rio, and I love to explore when she was a child. Using soft blues, purples, and yellows, I captured a lightly snow-covered forest. The tall, narrow canvas emphasizes the height of the trees, while a leaning tree adds depth and leads the eye to Rio as she walks through the scene. Sunlight filters through the branches, warming patches of snow and hinting at the first signs of spring. There’s a stillness in the air, broken only by the quiet movement of Rio among the trees. I wanted to capture that mix of calm, light, and life—the simple, peaceful feeling of being in the woods with her on a crisp winter morning.
