Artist Inspiration: I painted this lion with what must be more than a thousand fast strokes, driven more by instinct than plan. The night came first: Prussian blue and deep sap green laid down dark and moody, then the moon arrived, oversized and abstract, holding the space. His face pushed forward out of the paint—calm but unyielding—emerald eyes locked straight ahead. The mane stayed loose and frizzled, and a band of purple tree trunk cuts through it like a mark of royalty. This effort wasn’t about polish; it was about presence. Power doesn’t always roar—sometimes it simply watches and holds its ground.
