Artist Inspiration: Created during a rare five-day intensive workshop with renowned artist Robert Moore and inspired by a painting from his son, Robbie Moore, this piece marks a new artistic direction for me. A craggy mountain peak and still alpine lake frame the scene, while a blazing foreground fire becomes the heart of the painting, casting a glowing warmth onto the surrounding trees and sending a billow of smoke into the dusky sky. As twilight settles and the first stars begin to emerge beside a shadowed moon, the painting captures that intimate pull of a wilderness campfire — both rugged and comforting — through more controlled palette knife work, layered color, and a more atmospheric, expressive style than I’ve explored before.
