Description
Paying homage to my North Idaho roots (thanks to my mom, Barbara Pressler, and her Yellowstone phase), snow-capped peaks naturally found their way into this winter landscape, transforming it into a frozen lake cradled by meadow and mountains. The scene leans into the quiet drama of winter, where stillness and movement coexist. Naming the painting was a challenge, with titles like The Hunt, Solo, Cold Pursuit, and Simply Bare all in consideration. In the end, I settled on “Cinnamon’s Roll,” a nod to the bear’s rich, warm coloring as she rolls through the snow—and, of course, because I couldn’t resist the pun.
