Artist Inspiration: Inspired by a colorful graphic, this piece was created for a wine label, depicting a majestic animal in a woodland lake with a yellow-orange sunrise framed between its antlers. I initially struggled with the snout and eye placement, only to realize I had been referencing a robust elk instead of a moose. Once I adjusted the nose, repositioned the antlers, and corrected the proportions, the composition came together. The eyes reflect focus and intensity, and while the playful grape draping evolved differently than planned, the piece’s title remains fitting, carrying a double meaning tied to its creation.
