Artist Inspiration: I painted this moment of a gentle brown bear and her tiny cub resting together in an abstracted world of water and sky. I wanted the mother to feel steady, grounded, broad, calm, and protective, while the cub—impossibly small—sits on its haunches with a tiny fish held carefully in its mouth. The background moves through layers of luminous blue and shifting color, blurring reflection and atmosphere. A small sun floats above them, subtle but intentional. Small Catch reflects devotion, learning, and belonging—the quiet pride of a cub’s first success, held within the steady, protective presence of its mother.
