Artist Inspiration: In an effort to bridge a connection lost due to a broken relationship, I was tickled pink to have her accept my offer to try palette knives and oils as she had never used either. Expressing talent in art as a child, I witnessed, first-hand, her God-given gift as an adult; she picked up the artist tools and painted a beautiful landscape drawing inspiration from a ski mountain she had climbed. I simply painted from my heart as I shared in the creative process interacting by sharing some tricks and techniques with her. It was thrilling to see that she still had a natural talent for art and we both ended up creating pieces that were related but had different styles, as we shared the same color palette. I thought about naming the piece “Breaking Ice” but settled on a more positive title of ‘Hope Paints’. I hope she carries the memory as a fond one and perhaps continues to use her gift of freeing palette knives and oils.
