Artist Inspiration: I painted this from a memory that has stayed with me—my son Kip as a boy, sitting cross-legged on the floor, completely lost in his books. The light coming through the window would catch in his hair and rest softly on his face, and for a moment, everything felt still and right. He had those little Harry Potter glasses and a quiet way about him, content in his own world, turning pages like time didn’t matter.
This piece isn’t about recreating a scene exactly—it’s about holding onto a feeling. A moment of peace, of curiosity, of who he was then. The books surround him like a small universe, and the light finds him gently, the way I remember it. ‘Between Pages’ speaks to that space where memory lives—somewhere in the middle of a story, not finished, still holding meaning.
