Artist Inspiration: I’ve painted this lion again and again, and still—he never arrives the same way twice. This one leans softer than before, though the strength is untouched. It carries that same grounding presence, close to ‘A King’s Cup’, but settled, quieter.
There’s something in his face that feels like rest. Not weakness but a kind of earned stillness. Like a place you could come to, lay your burdens down, and be held without question. That’s where the name came from. ‘Lion’s Lap’ feels like strength you can trust. Power that makes room.
