Artist Inspiration: When I thought about the theme 12 Days of Giving, my mind went straight to Matthew 5:14—‘You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.’ I wanted to create something that captures that idea—that when we come together in generosity and faith, we shine brighter than we ever could alone. This hillside is painted in deep, rich colors, representing strength and foundation. Across it, I’ve scattered small golden lights—abstract and painterly, not houses or windows, but symbols of each act of giving, each life touched. Individually, they’re just dots of paint. But together, they form something radiant and powerful that cannot be hidden. For me, City on a Hill is a picture of this community, and of what these 12 days are really about: shining light outward, multiplying hope, and reminding us that generosity leaves a glow that lasts far beyond the season.
