Artist Inspiration: In search of a captivating subject to change up my landscape-focused repertoire, my choice fell upon a dynamic scene featuring a spirited pony.
Employing a blend of horizontal and vertical elements within the backdrop, enhanced by a vivid color palette, I managed a dynamic movement throughout the artwork. However, achieving accurate proportions presented challenging. I like the flow of the horse’s wild mane and tail, which cascades in a frizzled burst of energy. The untamed essence of the horse is captured in a mid-leap posture, seeming to burst forth directly toward the viewer. The sense of speed and wind is conveyed through the rippling texture of the pony’s mane and tail. The echoes of a song’s lyrics from “Pancho & Lefty” by Townes Van Zandt were rekindled by a friend, Art’s, comment, leading me to christen this artwork ‘Steel Wind.’
