Artist Inspiration: This joyful spring canvas, Hidden Hare, is bathed in soft blues, greens, and yellows, capturing the essence of Idaho’s aspen trees and a quiet creek. It evokes peaceful walks through the Northwest woods, where the familiar beauty of the aspen groves surrounds you. When I finished, my friend Nichole suggested hiding something playful in the piece. I chose a small white rabbit, sparking a fun game for friends and family. People began spotting all sorts of things—owls, birds, deer, even faces in the bark—sometimes before noticing the rabbit. Once it’s found, it’s all you can see! Watching someone solve the little puzzle is such a delight that I’m inspired to hide more surprises in future paintings.
