Artist Inspiration: At nearly life-size, Gill’s Guardian stands watchful and serene in a marshy Idaho creek at sunset—its moose subject glowing in hues of pastel pink, ember orange, and cool blue. The haunting silhouettes of scorched trees rise like smoky spirits in the background, a subtle nod to the wildfires that have reshaped these mountain ranges. Commissioned by Kim and Eric Gill of Golden Eagle Ranch, this work was painted on an 8×6-foot framed canvas which the scale chosen deliberately to match the majesty of its subject. The moose becomes a silent sentinel, a totem of presence and protection. This piece honors the resilient, watchful spirit of the Idaho wilderness and, fittingly, now serves as a symbolic guardian for the Gill family.
