This sweet painting seemed to evolve naturally from within me, featuring a soft pastel palette. I followed my usual approach, moving from the distant background toward the foreground. What began as blue flowers along the horizon transformed into a serene pond, and I happily yielded to the plan the canvas revealed. In doing so, a fresh artwork emerged, quite different from my original idea. To tie in the colors, I added the warm tones of a sunrise with yellow blossoms, later refined into daffodils with subtle hints of orange. A faint formation of birds in flight provides a final touch, guiding the eye through the scene. When I look at this piece, I feel an immediate calm, as if I’m standing on a quiet North Idaho deck, taking in the gentle, flowing landscape.
