Artist Inspiration: Crossing Country was inspired by my daughter, Rio, whose strength and grace shine through this skier’s uphill journey. She moves with quiet determination through a snowy passage of evergreens. Peach-pink birch trees cast long shadows across the white trail, their soft glow playing against the cool depth of the evergreens. The winter air is crisp, yet the cadmium yellow and powder blue sky opens wide with warmth and promise, guiding her toward light on the horizon. In this quiet climb, I see both her determination and her serenity—a reminder that even in effort, there is beauty, peace, and joy in the upward glide.
