This painting holds an inordinate amount of paint and equally matching palette strokes! The meticulous layering of paint adds a notable tactile quality, and I love the rich, vivid array of colors and particularly captivating pastel palette. My favorite part about this painting is the transition from late summer to early fall, with the interplay of vibrant orange, bright green, and deep purple tones. Layer after layer of paint was added to create wonderful texture and a sense of movement. I’m particularly taken by how the deep purple stream winds its way through the lush banks of vegetation. I can almost picture the ants, grasshoppers, and all sorts of bustling life in the underbrush. It also makes me wonder about the vibrant ecosystem that might be present in the cool freshwater stream. Overall, this painting humbly speaks to me, and I’m just amazed by how it captures the essence of nature during this changing season.
