Artist Inspiration: While sitting at a summer art show with time to spare, I found myself with two pre-framed canvases and a touch of inspiration. My sweet stepmother, Helenma, hadn’t yet had a painting created in her honor, so instead of one, I painted two complementary pieces. Each painting can stand alone, but when placed side by side, they unite into a single, cohesive scene. Helenma’s Moon, the right piece, captures a dreamy, evening Idaho landscape, with a glowing moon perched high above the mountains. Its soft light kisses the prairie below, casting a serene glow across the landscape. The companion piece, Helenma’s Home, depicts a nostalgic little home nestled in the hills. The tiny, humble house is set back in time, evoking memories of days gone by. Together, these two pieces celebrate the warmth and tranquility of Helenma’s spirit, connecting the moonlit night with the cherished memories of her home.
