Artist Inspiration: I stumbled upon this spotted frame and immediately sensed motion, with wild air, rustling feathers, and a bird in the midst of landing. I painted Coming in Hot to fit the energy already living in the frame. This barn owl is captured just as it’s braking in flight, wings arched, talons ready, moments from perching on a weathered branch. The turquoise, yellow ochre, and phthalo blue slice through the air with seafoam green and white lifting the feathers into light.
