Artist Inspiration: Inspired by my tall and graceful daughter in high school, I painted a young ballerina caught in a moment of beauty and strength. Poised perfectly on a pointe, her arms lift toward the sky, palms open as if holding the light. The piece bursts with color: peacock blue-green swirling around her, a fiery orange underskirt, and a backdrop of yellow and blue-green. Cascading, squiggly lines suggest music and movement, energy that she draws into her calm, elegant form.
