Artist Inspiration: Creating this painting was an absolute delight, as it marked my first international plein air painting attempt and my inaugural journey with art supplies for an overseas inspiration trip. My daughter and I embarked on a memorable mother-daughter adventure, where she pursued her passion for surfing while I sought inspiration through my palette knives. Our European escapade, primarily based in Portugal, was a dream come true. The breathtaking sunsets and the awe-inspiring arched outcroppings in the sea served as my muse. I was particularly captivated by the striking interplay of complementary blue and orange hues, which brought the scene to life in a magnificent way. The title of this painting is a reflection of the prominent arch I captured while also playing tribute to the incredible challenge of safely transporting a wet oil painting across continents.
